BIOGRAPHY

Lambert Werner was born in Stockholm in the year 1900 and died in 1983 in the same city.
He was already as a 17 year old, inspired by Gösta Adrian Nilsson’s colorful and dynamic art. In the year 1925, he moved to Berlin and studied to become a medical doctor for three years while at the same time continuing his piano studies. He gradually began to study art and came into contact with Kandinsky and Klee. He experimented also from time to time with sculpture much influenced by Archipenko and Zadkin. He then moved to Paris, where he in 1928 had his debut at Galerie Mots et Image. After that he continued his studies traveling in Europe, North Africa and the Near East. 

Solo exhibitions:
In Stockholm Lambert Werner has had exhibition at “Färg och Form”, in the years 1949, 1951, 1955, 1960, 1966, 1975 and 1983.
He had showings at “Sturegalleriet” in 1959, “Sveagalleriet” in 1962, and “Galleri Observatorium” in 1962 and in “Galleri Latina” in 1965.
A commemoration exhibition was arranged at “Mälargalleriet” in 1989.
Lambert Werner has also had exhibitions in other parts of Sweden, so for example in Göteborg at “Lorensberg’s Art Salon” in 1949,1951, 1954,1958, 1962, 1964 and in 1966. He was also exhibited at “Olai Art Salon” in 1953 and again in 1956. He was at “Borås konstmuseum” in 1953, at the “Konsthallen” in Örebro in 1954, at the “Galerie Colibri” in Malmö, 1955, the Museum in Jönköping in 1956, The Museum in Vesterås in 1957 and in Landskrona in 1959 as well as “Galleri Smedbyn” in Huskvarna in 1982.
Abroad Lambert Werner has had separate exhibitions in Paris, at the “Galerie Raymond Creuze” in 1951, 1953 and in 1955 and 1958. In Basel at the “Galerie d’Art Moderne in 1951. He was displayed in Berlin at “Galerie Bremer” in 1952 and 1953, in Brussels at the “Galerie Apollo” and in Luzern at “Galerie d’Art National”. He was also to be seen in Munich, Traunstein in 1956 and in Oslo at the “Galerie Paletten”. There were showings in Nürnberg in 1958, in Wuppertal-Barmen in 1959-62, in Amsterdam at the “Galerie Kartina” in 1961 and in New York at the “Armory Gallery” in 1964. The Italian art gallery “Numero” also promoted Lambert Werner, with exhibitions in 1955 in Rome, Milan, Florence and Venice.

Lambert Werner has even participated in numerous collective and group exhibitions in Sweden and abroad.
At the Swedish Common Art Association’s spring – and fall exhibition at “Liljevalchs Konsthall” and Swedish Watercolors at the Art Academy.

A number of Art Halls and museums in Germany, Holland and Denmark made exhibitions, among others, “Miniaturen 70 International”, “Galerie 66”, “H.G.Krupp” and the Goethe Institutes.
6.    Traveling Exhibition in Spain,”IL Sweeds”. “Artist International Association Gallery” in London. “The Hilton Gallery” in Athens. “Salle Balsac” in Paris. “Art Suedois contemporain 1900-1964” at “Musée Galiera” in Paris. “Nostra Nationale d’Arte Contemporana” at the Palazzo Strozzi in Florence. Centro Artistico del Cinquale, Nostra Internationale d’Arte Avanguardia in Livorno. Nostra Internationale Estate in 1965, as well as Internationell Dante-Exhibition in Florence, 1965. The Biennale de Menton in 1970.
7.    Collective exhibition in 1965 at “Galeri Latina” in Stockholm with subsequent exhibition in Montevideo and Buenos Aires and in Istanbul …
8.    Lambert Werner also participated in “Västerorts exhibitions” in Trappan as well as “Grupp V: s” in Vällingby, Sweden.
